BIM

BIM or Building Information Modeling. In AnsvarCAD, all designs are created in a 3D model, meaning that the actual result is always visible. Element details are parametric, which means that they are not just three-dimensional shapes (like, for example, 3DSolids), but they also have attributes: height, width, depth, name, strength class, colour, and any other attributes required.

The model can be shared with others either directly in DWG format or as an IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) data model. The model can be viewed even without the AnsvarCAD application and can thus be shared freely.

AnsvarCAD supports working with other models. Larger buildings are generally mixed structures (concrete, steel, wood) where different parts are realized by different parties. Special parts such as heating, ventilation, water supply, sewage, etc. may also need to be considered. In such cases, models need to be shared and elements need to be designed together with other parts.

Element drawings are generated directly from the finished model. Thus, any adjustments in the model are also reflected in element drawings.
